Embark on a journey to discover the jewels of Uzbekistan, where history whispers through turquoise domes, lively alleyways, and palaces adorned with intricate ceramics.
Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva… these legendary cities were key stops for caravans laden with silk, spices, and knowledge.
Itinerary
Khiva – Bukhara – Aydarkul – Asraf – Samarkand – Tashkent
Day 1
Urgench – Khiva
Arrival at Urgench airport and transfer to Khiva (30 km).
Breakfast and some rest before beginning the exploration of the city.
Visit the inner city – Itchan-Kala, offering a vivid image of what a Central Asian city looked like in the 19th century.

Day 2
Khiva
Breakfast at the hotel.
Excursion to Ayaz Kala, Kizil Kala, and Tuprak Kala – Zoroastrian monuments from the pre-Islamic period, located on the banks of the Amu Darya (90 km round trip).
Return to Khiva and visit the Nurullabay Palace.
Dinner accompanied by a traditional folk performance.

Day 3
Khiva – Bukhara (480 km)
Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for Bukhara, a city straight out of Eastern tales, with over 2,500 years of history.
Cross the Kyzylkum Desert, with a break for tea along the Amu Darya River.
Lunch en route. Arrival in Bukhara in the evening and check-in at the hotel.

Day 4
Bukhara
Breakfast followed by a full day of sightseeing:

Ismail Samani Mausoleum, the oldest monument in Bukhara, dating back to the 10th century

Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, associated with the prophet Job

The Ark Fortress, former residence of Bukhara’s rulers

Day 5
Bukhara
Breakfast, followed by:

Day 6
Bukhara – Yurt Camp (260 km / 4h)
Depart for Nurata via Gijduvan to visit the ceramic workshop of master Abdullo Nurullaev. Tour of the Ceramics Museum and embroidery demonstration by local women.
Continue to Nurata, with stops at the ancient caravanserai Rabat-i-Malik and the Sardoba water reservoir. Visit the ruins of Alexander the Great’s fortress and the sacred fish pool.
Lunch at a local home in Nurata.
Head toward the yurt camp. Camel ride and departure to Lake Aydarkul. Weather permitting, enjoy a swim in the lake’s warm waters and explore its natural surroundings.
Outdoor dinner followed by Kazakh songs around the campfire.
Overnight in yurt camp
Day 7
Aydarkul – Asraf (70 km / 1h)
Breakfast, then drive to Asraf village. Short hike to experience local rural life and nature. Visit the ruins of an ancient village.
Participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare the national Uzbek dish – Plov.
Overnight at a local homestay
Day 8
Asraf – Samarkand (210 km / 4h)
Breakfast, then drive to Samarkand.
Stop in Jizzakh to taste the famous local samsa.
Check-in at the hotel. Free time for the rest of the day.

Samarkand
